SAMBA: One week long cleanliness drive organized by Army Public School (APS) BD Bari under the aegis of Swachh Bharat Mission, concluded on Friday.
The drive was flagged off by Brig. Deep Bhagat, Chairman APS BD Bari on 23rd May.
During the drive various houses of the school had selected their respective villages for cleanliness. Throughout the week a number of activities were conducted in order to inform, motivate and enlighten the village people regarding the benefits of keeping cleanliness, prevention of various communicable diseases and the threat of the spread of various deadly epidemics because of not maintaining cleanliness.
Colourful skits were performed by the teachers and taught of the various houses in order to spread the message of maintaining cleanliness.
In the valediction ceremony, DC Samba Sheetal Nanda was the Chief Guest.
Interactive session was organised where the students discussed the hurdles confronted by them during the drive and Sheetal Nanda provided solutions to them.
Later prize distribution was held where in the students showing the outstanding performance in their service during the drive were awarded by Brig. Deep Bhagat.
Cricket kits were distributed among the residents of the village who had whole heartedly contributed for this noble cause.
Chief Guest complimented the school for organizing such kind of programmes and encouraged them to keep on doing so in future too.
