SHOPIAN: An awareness programme under Systematic Voter Education Electoral Participation (SVEEP) was held on Tuesday at Boy’s Higher Secondary School Shopian in which Anganwadi, ASHA workers, Panchs, Sarpanchs and young voters participated.
Nodal Officer SVEEP, and his team briefed the participants about the election procedure.
The District Election Officer Shopian educated the participants about the electoral process and importance of participatory democracy and enjoined upon them to play active role in creating awareness among the voters about the importance of taking part in the electing their representatives.
On the occasion training was also imparted about the working of electronic voting machines to felicitate the voters in exercising their franchise at the time of polling.
