SUVIDHA to organise dog show on March 4

JAMMU: Society for Upliftment and Value to Indigenous Animals, Health and Agriculture (SUVIDHA), a social organisation, is going to organise a Pet Fashion Show/Dog Show on March 4, 2018 at Gulshan Ground Gandhi Nagar, here between 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
This was stated by Dr Bhanu Khajuria, President SUVIDHA, in a press conference here on Wednesday. Dr Bhanu was flanked by Dr Anisha. Dr Bhanu said that the show in which over 200 pets are participating will be inaugurated by Dr S.P Vaid, Director General of Police (DGP), J&K. “The main aim of this organisation is to improve health of animals, stop cruelty against animals, work for clean environment through plantation, social forestry and hygiene,” He said. He added that the major emphasis would also be given to conserve the indigenous breeds of animals which are on the verge of extinction, so more of indigenous breeds be reared or kept as pet. “We are also launching a hand out which contains articles written by veterinarians and writers regarding pet’s health, nutrition, their up keeping and their rule in human life,” he said adding that along this event they will be having free anti-rabies vaccine camp along with free deworming, tick treatment and health check up with lots of sampling for pets.
