JAMMU: In the aftermath of demonetization, Income Tax Department sleuths on Friday carried out a survey of the business premises of a Jammu based leading transporter cum courier service provider.
The IT operation was carried out on a specific allegation received from different sources that the leading transporter company was making attempts to evade tax by manipulating the records.
According to sources, IT teams reached Talab Tillo office of the transporter and shut down their shutters. Entire record was being scrutinized when the reports last received.
IT officers were, however, tight lipped over the matter.
