JAMMU: Suraj Punia, Deepika Sharma, Jhanvi and Karun excelled winning gold in their respective categories in the Fifth Kathua District Shooting Championship, organised by Kathua District Rifle Association. In all, around 80 young shooters contested for the top honours in different age categories of boys and girls in the day-long competition held at Gulshan Ground, here. The winners of the district championship were given away medals by SSP, Mohan Lal. Among others present were Kuldeep Jamwal, V.S Pathania, Samar Dev Singh Charak, Paramjeet Singh, Rajiv Sharma APS Janglot and Sharat Chander Singh (General Secretary of Kathua District Rifle Association).

GIRLS: Sub-Junior Pistol: Deepika Sharma, Ist; Shivani, 2nd and Mehak, 3rd. Sub-Junior Rifle: Janvi Puniya, Ist; Simran, 2nd ; Vishali and Mohini, joint 3rd. Youth Rifle: Kritika, Ist; Tanisha, 2nd and Manvi, 3rd. Senior Rifle: Sarita, Ist; Rajni, 2nd.
BOYS: Youth Pistol: Suraj Puniya, Ist; Ajay Singh, 2nd and Anupam Sharma, 3rd.
