AKHNOOR: Madan Lal Sharma, veteran Congress leader, former MP and Minister while addressing a series of public meetings at Mera Mandrian, Bruta Mandi, Bhamberwa called upon the people to strengthen the bond of amity and brotherhood for the overall development of the State in particular and nation in general .
Sharma said that peace, amity and brotherhood are pre-requisite for the progress and prosperity of the State or society. He asked the people to be aware of the communal forces which will try to divide people for their vested interests. He also felt the need to encourage the peace loving communities and discouragement to the trouble mongers and peace disturbing elements.
Sharma said that Congress party is the party that has at the core the unity of all Indians, a party that made sacrifices for the freedom of India, administered economic and social development, laid the foundation of a modern India with a firm commitment to the values and traditions of our civilization.
He said that during last 12 years entire state witnessed unprecedented development , remote, hilly and backward areas given equal thrust and attention adding that if people wish to revive that era of progress and development they must come forth to give a decisive mandate to the Congress Party. He said that more powerful the Congress will be stronger will become the voice of Jammu. He said that Congress is the only party which can provide justice to all sections of the society.
He cautioned the people against the hollow slogan mongers and communal forces, which make the politics of dividing the communities. He said such forces only surface at the time of election and mislead the people by spreading false propaganda, inciting the sentiments of innocents. Sharma said that the people should not fall prey to their nefarious designs and must teach them lesson.
