Supply of ration, LPG increased: Ch. Ramzan

ramzan 19SRINAGAR: Minister for CAPD, Ch Mohammad Ramzan, Friday reviewed the supply and distribution of essential commodities in general and specifically in flood hit areas, in a meeting with CAPD officials, here.
The minister took brief about the supply position in the Srinagar city following the floods and the quantum of ration dispatched to the people. He was told that so far over 2500 tonnes of ration has been pushed to various areas after the floods hit the State.
“More and more ration should be moved to the flood affected areas in coming days so that it reaches to all people” the minister said.
The minister directed officials to ensure that normal functioning of ration Ghats is resumed and ration supplied to them for distribution among the people across the State. He also directed that supply and dumping of essential commodities as per past practice should be ensured to various border areas that remain cut off during winter months.
The minister also received brief on the availability and distribution of LPG cylinders, even as over 8,000 LPG cylinders have already been distributed to the people in Srinagar city after the floods. He asked the officials to ensure supply to all areas so that people do not face any inconvenience in this regard.
The State Government has already directed to provide free ration for six months to the flood affected people.
