CHANDIGARH: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Wednesday demanded that the CBI investigations in the Delhi liquor scam should be extended to Punjab as well.
Chugh said the beneficiaries in the Punjab excise policy allegedly have connections in Delhi and Punjab has been losing a big chunk of revenue ever since the AAP government has come to power in Punjab.
Chugh claimed that the Punjab excise policy for 2022-23 is similar to Delhi’s, having also been drafted by Manish Sisodia and his team.
This, he said, was confirmed by AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, who tweeted that the excise policy, which was not permitted in New Delhi, was working wonders in Punjab.
Chugh said there was an urgent need to examine how the AAP has been raising the party money from the government resources in Punjab to fund its elections in other states.
There is a stark example of how crores of rupees meant for the Public Relations department were diverted to the last Gujarat Assembly and the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections.
