Sukhnandan demands clearance of RDD vendors’ pending payments; seeks LG’s intervention

JAMMU: Demanding clearance of payments of Rural Development Department’s vendors cum supplies who supplied sand, cement and other construction related materials in the past few years, senior BJP leader and former Minister Choudhary Sukhnandan Kumar sought government’s immediate attention towards the genuine demand of the local traders.
A delegation consisting of Raj Kumar Babbi, Narinder Singh, Sham Lal, Harjeet Singh, Ashok Kumar, Raj Kumar, Mahesh Bhardwaj and others, all vendors cum suppliers to RDD met the former minister today at his residence in Marh.
Stating that their payments are pending for the last over three years as they have supplied sand, cement, bricks and other construction related material to the department of rural development to carry out various works started under different schemes of UT government and central government.
Here it is relevant to mention that already a delegation led by former minister Sukhnandan Kumar had met the LG Manoj Sinha and apprised him about the issues being faced by the suppliers and vendors of the UT.
The former minister and senior BJP leader reminded that the Sinha had assured to get the issue resolved.
Today while addressing the group of vendors, Ch Sukhnandan said that it is a long pending issue and I am sure that it will be resolved at an earliest.
On the demand of vendors, who visited his house today at Marh, Sukhnandan assured them to take up their issue once again at the Raj Bhawan so that their livelihood is not affected as most of the small vendors are suffering a lot in absence of no payments to them in the past few years..
Under the guidance of Modi government, the government of UT of J&K has initiated many works especially in rural areas besides the Srinagar and Jammu Samart Cities project, Sukhnandan said, adding and assuring the vendors that the payments pending with the government shall be released at an earliest.
