Sukhnandan appreciates LG for launching ‘Mobile Based Farm Advisory’; seeks relief for rain-affected crop

JAMMU: The J&K UT government has taken various initiatives to improve the income of people engaged in the farming sector, former Minister and senior BJP leader Choudhary Sukhnandan Kumar said adding the farmers now have options to keep track on weather conditions. Moreover he also demanded compensation for the farmers in case their crop gets damaged because of rains in Jammu region.
The former minister the government is committed to protect the interest of the farming community through its policies and intentions.
“With the new method , the user has to scan the QR code to register and get advisory directly on phone,” former minister Ch Sukhnandan Kumar said, adding this will help the farmers for the regular information on weather conditions, pest-prevention, diseases related to crops & livestock, spraying schedule of fruit crops and latest agricultural and allied sector inputs.
“The Agriculture Production Department, UT of J&K has launched Daksh Kisan (Learning Management System) and Kisan Saathi (IT Dashboard) for registering and for advisory, said Sukhnandan Kumar.
Addressing a gathering at Marh on Friday, the senior BJP leader Sukhnandan Kumar said government has taken and also going to take various initiatives to improve the income of villagers and farmers.
“I personally convey our heartedly thanks LG Manoj Sinha for taking care of farmers,” Sukhnandan said.
Modi government at any cost is committed to protect the interest of farmers through “its policies and intentions”, the former minister emphasised that the UT government must also access the loss of crop to the farmers because of rains in Jammu region.
