JAMMU: A shocking incident of attack on a police officer was reported on Sunday evening at around 8:30 PM at Gurrah Morh in the Bakshi Nagar area of Jammu.

According to official sources, SI Nitin Khajuria (EXJ-109496), posted as Investigating Officer (I/O) at Police Station Bakshi Nagar, was intercepted and assaulted by a group of goons while on the move. The accused have been identified as Rishab, Munna D, and two unidentified individuals. The assailants were travelling in a black-coloured Thar bearing registration number JK02DR-6351.
The attackers allegedly stopped SI Nitin Khajuria and assaulted him with a tokka (sharp-edged weapon). They also reportedly brandished a pistol during the attack, creating panic in the area. The officer sustained injuries and was immediately shifted to Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu, for medical treatment.
In connection with the incident, FIR No. 158/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar. Police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the accused, and further investigation is currently underway.
Senior police officials have taken serious note of the incident, and strict action is assured against those involved.
