Students take out SVEEP rally for voter awareness

REASI: To enhance the electoral awareness and to increase electoral registration in the forthcoming Assembly elections, a rally under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme was on Tuesday organised at Government High School Ransoo.
The rally was flagged off by PO DRDA (Nodal Officer SVEEP) Dr Jagdish Mehra in which more than 100 students participated.
The rally was organised as a part of comprehensive District SVEEP Plan which is already being formulated under the guidance of District Election Officer Reasi. The students in the rally carried banners, posters, placards and pamphlets highlighting the importance of voting.
While addressing the gathering, Dr Mehra exhorted upon the students to act as ambassadors and disseminate the message of importance of electoral participation for stronger and participative democracy. Some students also spoke on the occasion and threw light on the importance of voting in nation building process.
BLO Narinder Kishore highlighted the importance of elections and voting in democracy and appealed to the participants to register themselves in electoral rolls and cast their valuable vote in the elections. On this occasion all the students took an oath to ensure the electoral participation of their relatives, family members and friends.
