JAMMU: The students community at large are feeling helpless because of decisions of the State Government regarding school upgradation.
According to sources, the up gradation of about 800 government schools has been cancelled by the present PDP and BJP Coalition Government. These schools were earlier up graded by the previous Coalition Government of the National Conference and INC during their tenure in 2014 only under the State Plan. Due to the cancellation of up gradation of 800 government schools, the future of the students of these schools would be at stake for no fault of theirs as they won’t be getting the facilitie of their schooling nearest to their homes but on the contrary they would have to move from one place to another by covering the distance of sizeable kilometers for getting the education which is their fundamental right. There are apprehensions that due to this unpopular decision of the government sizeable No of students of 5th class to 10th class in the State would leave the schools and they would be deprived of education which is matter of great concern for the society as a whole. Students and the people at stake are resenting this decision of the government .
