Stress, anxiety can trigger heart diseases: Dr Sushil

RAJOURI: In view of Dr. Sushil’s pivotal role in the spread of cardiovascular diseases awareness across the State, Swami Vishwatamanand Saraswati Trust invited Dr Sushil Sharma (HoD Cardiology GMCH and SSH Jammu) and his team to sensitise the disciples assembled to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Guru Gang Dev Ji on the incidence of CVD and necessary prevention thereof.
The team of doctors reached in the wee hours of the morning. The camp was inaugurated by Shri Shri 1008 Swami Vishwatamanand Ji Maharaj amidst Vedic invocations for universal peace and health for all.
Keeping in view the backdrop of the event, Dr Sushil, while interacting with the patients, dwelt at length the significant linkage between essential religious practices and spiritual beliefs and their possible outcomes on one’s overall health pattern.
“Meditation is an antidote to overcome stress, fear and anxiety. Stress, anxiety and depression can triggers coronary heart diseases. That’s why it’s so important to learn healthy ways to cope with the stressors in your life,” he added.
The medical camp drew a lot of appreciation and gratitude from the people. Swami Vishwatamanand Ji also showered the divine blessings on the team of doctors for providing best healthcare facilities to the residents of border town.
Around 1,000 people benefitted from the health check up camp. Free medicines were given as per advice. Important body tests viz., ECG, Lipid- profile, BMD, Blood sugar was also done.
Others who were instrumental in this effort included Dr Shalinder Sharma, Dr Kewal Sharma, Dr Poonam Jagiasi, Dr Monica Sharma, Dr Mahesh Jagiasi, Dr R.K Bajaj, Dr Sourav Gupta, Dr Nitesh Sharma, Paramedics and volunteers who were part of the team included Vikas Kumar, Kashmiri Lal, Raghav Rajput, Harvinder Singh, Gourav Sharma, Akshay Kumar, Rajinder Singh, Ankush Kohli, Suresh Sharma, Vikas Sabharwal, Mandeep Sharma, Ashish Sharma, Rajkumar and Jagjit Singh.
