JAMMU: Asserting that empowering women is imperative for nation building, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Dr Mohan Rao Bhagwat who is on a two days visit to J&K called upon womenfolk to come forward and contribute in nation’s growth.
“The women force (Matri Shakti) apart from serving their families, should come out and work for society and the country, which will lead the nation to pinnacle of prosperity,” Bhagwat said while addressing a women conference here on Monday.
“Women should come forward and take part in the programmes for the welfare of the society. They should start from their homes and work for the society without getting distracted by anybody,” he said.
“Until women of this nation shall not participate proactively in its development, India will not be able to realise its potential. Our Matra Shakti can act as a guiding force for their counterparts in other parts of world,” said Bhagwat. “The society is composed of 50 per cent of women and it is because of their contribution the progress of the society depends. There is no possibility of change of destiny of a country, society and family without the change of the destiny of the womenfolk,” Bhagwat said adding that there should be no gender comparison. “It is important to educate womenfolk because mother acts as teacher for her children and can groom society by enabling her children to become good citizens”, he added.
