Soon after the taking over the reins of the power few years back, the present dispensation led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi where on one hand launched a significant development spree across the length and breadth of the country to ensure overall development in every aspect on the other hand, necessary corrections were made in the foreign policy of the country to improve bilateral relations with other developed nations besides providing a significant and respectable place to the nation in international forum. In this regard, the Prime Minister himself not only visited several nations but also held interactions with their heads to develop friendly-ties with the country along with working jointly on several fronts. Although at that time, the other leaders especially that of opposition parties opposed this move of the Prime Minister and criticized him in harshest manner, yet the Government continued its working without any change. It is only due to the dedicated efforts and far-sighted vision of the Prime Minister that today India shares friendly ties with a number of foreign nations and working with several others on numerous developmental fronts. The Government has not only achieved success in its motive to provide a respectable place to the country among other foreign nations but also working steadily on the same strategy to further improve the position of India and moving step by step closer to realize the vision of making the country Vishwa Guru. In this regard, the Prime Minister recently visited Japan and held detailed deliberations with his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida for further enhancing the bilateral security and cooperation in defence sector especially defence manufacturing. Both the leaders not only underscored the importance of maintaining a regular high-level exchanges between the countries but also expressed desire to cooperate with each other in various other sectors for the welfare of people of both the nations. At present juncture, when the country is sharing a hostile relationship with its neighbours, such developments especially with the nations like Japan are really appreciable as same will go a long way in further strengthening the stance of the country across the globe.
