Stone Crusher Owners hail report

JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Stone Crusher Owners Association (SCOA) on Thursday welcomed the report of the House Committee on SRO-105 which was presented yesterday in LA by the Chairman of the House Committee, Muhammad Akbar Lone.
The House Committee, constituted by Speaker, Kavinder Gupta to examine the provisions of SRO-105, held seven meetings on the issue and discussions were held upon the various aspects of SRO-105 with the various stakeholders.
Recommending revocation of SRO-105 under which non State Subjects could participate in bidding, in mining, Legislative Assembly (LA) House Committee in its report said it was in gross violation of Jammu and Kashmir Constitution.
President SCOA, Vikram Randhawa, while welcoming the report of the House Committee, said that certain important demands of the industry need to be incorporated which include the direct charging of royalty by Geology and Mining Department instead of contractors.
