Steps underway to upgrade power infrastructure: Dy CM

SAMBA: Reiterating Government’s resolve to ensure adequate and uninterrupted power supply to the consumers, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh on Sunday said that steps are underway to upgrade and augment the existing infrastructure in the power sector in the state.
Dr Singh said this after inaugurating 5MVA, 66/11KV Receiving Stations at Sumb & Rehian in Samba and upgraded 10MVA, 33/11KV Receiving Station at Chak Hasla in Bishnah.
The Receiving Stations would benefit large number of villagers living in Sumbh, Thaloor, Penthi and adjoining areas of Rehian.
Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control Sham Lal Chaudhary, MLA, Samba Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal, MLA, Bishnah Kamal Arora, District Development Commissioner, Samba Sheetal Nanda and Chief Engineer, Power Development Department Ashwani Kumar Gupta also accompanied the Deputy CM during the visit.
While addressing the gathering, the Deputy CM said that Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana would be implemented in the state soon which would help in providing 100 per cent electrification and 24X7 power supply in the rural areas of the state. Besides, this power infrastructure is being upgraded under the RAPDRP scheme that would ensure uninterrupted power supply in urban areas, he added.
Later, the Deputy CM also inaugurated additional 6.3MVA, 33/11KV transformer at Receiving Station Badyal Brahmana in Suchetgarh.
