Stay on JKCA selection committees
JAMMU: Excise Magistrate Jammu Amarjeet Singh Langeh on Saturday stayed two notifications issued by General Secretary J and K Cricket Association regarding formation of Committee and Sub-Committee to look-after the work of Jammu District.
According to the case of applicants Sudershan Mehta Joint Secretary Jammu Wing and Rakesh Kumar Vice Chairman of Jammu wing JKCA challenging the notifications issued by General Secretary JKCA informing about formulation of selection committee and sub-committee. The petitioners submitted that as per the Constitution of JKCA, General Secretary has no power to constitute a committee and challenged the same.
Excise Magistrate Jammu Amarjeet Singh Langeh after hearing Senior Advocate M.K Bhardwaj appearing for the applicants observed that the counsel for the applicant submitted that the notification issued by General Secretary is in complete violation of constitution of the association and further submitted that it is only working committee which is empowered in terms of constitution of the association to constitute various sub-committee and no office bearer can do the same of his own nor any power can be delegated to him, has stayed the impugned notification issued by General Secretary JKCA.
