JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Veteran Athletics Association on Friday named the State team for the upcoming National Masters’ Championship to be held at Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh from 5th January. The selection was made considering performance of the veteran athletes in the recently held State championship.
“The team (men and women) shall be taking part in various field and track events in different age categories”, General Secretary of the Association, Tarsem Lal Basotra told.
Earlier, the team underwent screening conducted by the J and K State Sports Council under the chairmanship of Joint Secretary, Shiv Kumar Sharma. The team is accompanied by Romesh Sharma and Gurcharan Singh.
The Team: Pushpa Devi, Sudesh Kumari, Kanta Butyal, Pawan Sharma, Nusrat Ara, Tarsem Lal Basotra, Jasbir Singh, Rajesh Padha, Surjit Choudhary, Ram Kapoor, V.K Dogra, Balwan Singh, Makhan Lal, Rajinder Nath, Master Balwan Singh, Kulbushan Singh, Ravi Butyal, Bhupinder Singh, Hans Raj, Sardari Lal, Rajinder Singh, Ajay Gill, Ajit Singh, Lal Chand, Sheikh Tulal, M.S Baba, Faiz Ahmed, Rayaz Ahmed, Mushtaq Ahmed and Mohd Yuseef.
