State TT meet gets underway

JAMMU: The 36th State Table Tennis Championship got underway at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here on Sunday. The championship is being organised by J and K Table Tennis Association and sponsored by State Sports Council, was declared open by Chief Sports Officer of the State Sports Council, Abdul Qayoom, who was the Chief Guest.
Around 300 boys and girls and senior players are taking part in the championship.
Prominent among others present were Ajay Sharma, Rajan Sharma, Sunil Sharma, Satish Gupta, Satbir Singh and Sheetal Gandotra.
The Results: Cadet Boys: Tejesbir beat Sunil 11-04, 11-05; Sawan Gupta defeated Akhilesh 11-06, 11-07; Mahi outplayed Rohan Langer 11-06, 11-02; Anush trounced Bhuvan 11-0, 11-04; Sudikshan blanked Krishna 11-07, 11-08; Shivaik Goel downed Pratham 11-07, 11-06; Meahay beat Utkarsh 11-03, 11-04; Hanumant defeated Paras 11-01, 11-07.
Cadet Girls: Yoguni beat Mannat 11-05, 11-07; Archita defeated Jasjeet 11-02, 11-03; Yatksha trounced Hargun 11-07, 11-08; Bhavya blanked Tanishka 11-06, 11-05; Iknoor downed Simran 11-08, 11-01.
