JAMMU: The 14th State Open Fencing Championship, organised by J and K Amateur Fencing Association and sponsored by J and K State Sports Council, got underway at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here.
Divisional Sports Officer of the Sports Council, Rajan Sharma was Chief Guest in the opening function, who interacted with participating teams from different districts and clubs and declared open the three-day meet.
President of the Association, M.J Sharma was Guest of Honour. Speaking to the gathering, association president informed that over 200 boys and girls have reported for the competition to be held in various age groups.
Among others present were Vijay Sharma , Mohinder Sharma, Rashid Ahmed Choudhary, Satish Gupta (Manager Indoor Stadium), Shottu Lal Sharma, Rachna Jamwal and Ajay Khatrol.
The competition was officiated by Anthony Matto, Ujjwal Gupta, Varun Slathia, Tony Mattoo, Ranchan Saberwal, Amit Manhas and Monika.
The participating districts are Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Reasi, Poonch and two teams from clubs, JK Mountosseri and Zorawar Clubs.
