State Badminton meet gets underway

JAMMU: Joint Secretary of the J and K State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma on Thursday declared open the 43rd J and K State Badminton Championship, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Badminton Association, at Police Badminton Hall, Gulshan Ground, here.
Around 200 players from participating districts of Poonch, Srinagar, Udhampur, Kathua, Pulwama, Baramulla and Bandipora are competing for the top honours in various age categories.
The Chief Guest interacted with the participants, mostly from lower age groups, and encouraged them. Among others present were General Secretary of the Association, Dr O.D Sharma, Vice President, Hakim Nasir, Joint Secretary, Fyaz Ahmad, Treasurer, Balbir Jamwal, Anil Gurkha, Satpal Sharma and Vikram Jamwal.
