The Central government is confused regarding its demonetisation policies. One day it makes one rule and the next, it withdraws and makes another. There is complete lack of coordination between the Centre and the RBI. What happens if you withdraw 86 per cent of blood from a body? What will be the fate of that person? The same will be the fate of our economy and our banking institutions that have already lost credibility. When one is unsure whether one will be able to withdraw as much money as one wants from bank, why would one deposit it? The hoarding of money will begin, generating black money. We will reach where we started. It is surprising that after so many lapses, no group of independent experts has been consulted to avoid further blunders. Why doesn’t the government start wider consultations?
