Stage set for State Volleyball meet

JAMMU: Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir (VAJK) geared up for the three-day 28th J and K State Volleyball (boys and girls) Championship at MA Stadium here from 17th to 19th December. Entries have been confirmed by all the 26 participating teams in boys and girls sections representing district Srinagar, Ganderwal, Anantnag, Pulwama, Budgam, Baramulla, Bandipora, Jammu, Poonch, Rajouri, Udhampur, Kathua, Ramban, Shopian, Samba, Kulgam and Kupwara, a handout issued by the Association here on Wednesday said.
The association has made elaborate arrangements for the stay of the teams and other technical aspects. The championship is being held on league-cum-knock out basis following the Volleyball Federation of India’s guidelines.
Earlier, the association held a meeting wherein various arrangements were finalised. The meeting was chaired by President of the association, Siddharth Daluja. The meeting besides others was attended by CEO, Kuldeep Magotra, H.S Gill, Vijay Kumar Magotra and R.C Sharma. The three-day championship is being sponsored by J and K Sports Council.
The association has invited Special Director General of J and K Police, S.P Vaid as Chief Guest for the opening event at MA Stadium on 17th December.
