SSP Railways conferred Digital India Champion Award

JAMMU: Rajinder Gupta SSP Railways Jammu, a 1999 batch KPS Officer was conferred Digital India Champion Award-2016 in New Delhi on Thursday. Besides serving as SDPO Jammu East, Additional SP Udhampur and SP CID Jammu, Rajinder was on deputation with Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and served as Passport Officer Jammu.
As Passport Officer, Jammu, Rajinder Kumar Gupta had change the system, so much so, that for the first time, Jammu Passport Office was awarded with “Passsport Seva Puruskar”. During his tenure, a Project Report regarding integration of Police Verification in J&K with Passport Seva Project was submitted to the MEA, in a meeting held at Goa.
The Project Report was accepted and applauded by the Committee. Same Project Report was later approved by the MEA, a part of which was implemented, resulting in enhanced efficiency and increased productivity.
The other part of the Report has also been approved by the MEA, and is in the process of obtaining financial approval from the Union Ministry of Finance. Out of around 250 Officers who have done Champions Information Officer course which inter-alia include Bipul Pathak IAS, Javed Geelani, IGP Kashmir, Sheetal Nanda IAS, Saugat Biswas IAS and others from J&K, SSP Rajinder Gupta was chosen for this award by National e-Governance Division (NeGD).

JAMMU: According to a circular issued by J&K Legislative Council, there will be no Department Related Standing Committee (DRSC) meeting or meeting of any other Committee after 15th December 2016, in view of ensuing Budget Session Commencing from 2nd January, 2017.
