SSP Mohan Lal Bhagat conferred prestigious Nelson Mandela Peace Award

JAMMU: Mohan Lal Bhagat JKPS, son of the soil and native of Village Gurha Jagir, Akhnoor in J&K who is presently posted as Deputy Director Indoor SKPA Udhampur was conferred with prestigious Nelson Mandela Peace Award in field of good governance and social service. He was also awarded an honorary doctorate by the Nelson Mandela Peace Award Academy, at Jammu.
The chief guests of the award ceremony were Dr Ramdas Athawale (Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment), Sheikh Majid Rashid Al Mualla (ruling family member of the United Arab Emirates), Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta, Deputy Mayor Purnima Sharma, Major General Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, Captain Bana Singh (recipient of Param Veer Chakra), Giridhar Lal Batra & Kamal Kanta Batra (parents of Captain Vikram Batra), Dr Sandhya Gupta (Founder Chairman of Maharaja Hari Singh Foundation) and others who conferred this award to SSP Mohan Lal Bhagat for his extraordinary contribution in field of his services towards society and nation building.
Being affiliated to a number of prestigious social organisations SSP Mohan Lal Bhagat has a long list of unmatched contributions in the service of nation and society. He has played a major role in women empowerment programmes, Youth awareness activities, Traffic Awareness, Empowerment programmes for underprivileged sections. He has also conducted a number of Counseling sessions for deviated citizens of society
In the past, he was conferred with various prestigious awards including Two times Police Medal for Gallantry by the President of India in 2002 and 2010, Prakaram Padak in 2008, Police Medal for meritorious services by the President of India in 2020, DGP’s Commendation Medal in 2012 and many more.
SSP Mohan Lal Bhagat while addressing the media during the event said that with this honor his responsibility towards the Nation and society has increased and he assured to rededicate himself in the service of Nation and the society with increased discipline, utmost sense of commitment towards his duties, dedication and devotion.
