SSP Mohan Lal among three conferred prestigious Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Training

JAMMU: Ministry of Home Affair, Govt. of India, conferred prestigious Union Home Minister’s Medal for excellence in training for the year 2021-22 to Mohan Lal, JKPS, SSP, Dy. Director, Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur J&K.
As per scheme of Ministry of Home Affairs, the award of Medal to the trainers and other support staff working in Police Training Institutions of States, UTs and Central Police Forces called Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Police Trainingis awarded every year. The award is given to recognize the importance of training and trainers in Police organization, also to promote the quality of training in Police training institutes in the Country. Mohan Lal Bhagat, a resident of Akhnoor, M.Sc. Botany, 1999 batch JKPS officer after completing his probation from District Rajouri has served as DySP Operations,Pattan District: Baramulla, Kashmir (for 06 yrs), SP Operations, District :Doda, SP Rural District: Jammu, Again SP Operations District: Doda (2nd time), SP Katra District: Reasi, District SSP, Kathua, District SSP, Ramban, SSP Traffic City, Jammu, Commandant IRP 10th Battalion, Commandant JKAP-7th Battalion and presently serving as Dy. Director (Trainings/ Indoor), SKPA, Udhampur. Pertinently the awardee has served this institution for the last four years and has displayed sense of responsibility and dedication in the matters of Indoor as well as Outdoor trainings. He efficiently imparted the quality training and managed three batches of Prob. Dy.SsP, the largest ever batch of 583 Prob. Sub-Inspectors 2019-2021, Women BRTC, Specialized Courses, Vertical Interaction Courses on Smart policing, GazattedOfficer’s Refresher Courses on the analogy of Mid-Career Training Programmes (MCTP). He introduced concept of on line classes to Prob. Dy.SsP& Prob. SIs when institution was closed amid COVID-19 Pandemic which helped in the completion of training on time. He was instrumental in shaping and grooming the young trainee officers especially directly recruited Dy.SsP& Sub-Inspectors to meet the challenges of policing and serve the nation with dedication and devotion. He also successfully managed passing out parades of Prob. Dy.SsP, Prob. SI’s Basic induction courses (Drill & Discipline) of Assistant Directors, Firemen and Firemen drivers of Fire & Emergency Services Department. In these events, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor J&K was the Chief Guest.
It is in place to mention that Mohan LalBhagat is a highly decorated officer and he has been awarded withPolice Medal for Gallantry by the President of India (2002), PrakramPadak (Wound Medal) (2008), 1st Bar to the Police Medal for Gallantry by the Hon’ble President of India (2010), DGP’s Commendation Medal (2012), Police Medal for Meritorious Services by the Hon’ble President of India (2020), Apart from a large number of Appreciation letters from Senior officers, the then Hon’ble Governor, J&K appreciated him for exhibiting excellent operational expertise, professionalism, commitment, devotion and dedication during the discharge of duties in different capacities. He has also been conferred with Prestigious Nelson Mandela Peace Award-2022 in field of Good Governance and Social Service for his Noble and Excellent Contribution for Peace Building, Peace Loving, Peace Living to serve the Humanity Beyond all Boundaries through Social Welfare Activities. He was also awarded Honorary Doctorate in Good Governance and Social Welfare by the St. Mother Theresa University.
Whereas, Inspector (S) Ashok Kumar rendered seven years of exemplary service in the Academy. He has authored S.K Police Academy song which was approved and released by DGP J&K in the Academic Council Meeting in February 2021. Apart from organizing and designing Establishment Course for the Ministerial Executive Cadre, he played pivotal role in organizing 1st ever Hackathon by this academy on the theme “Eve Teasing.”
Whereas, Sgct. Mastan Singh performed duty with zeal & Zest in imparting training to Prob. Dy.SsP and Prob. SI’s. He has outstanding professional capabilities.
Garib Dass, ADGP, Director, S.K Police Academy Udhampurfelicated the awardees, expressed optimism that in future they will perform duty with similar dedication.
