SSP, Dy.SsP NH attached for ‘traffic mismanagement’

JAMMU: Taking serious cognisance of the reported traffic mismanagement on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH), Director General of Police (DGP), Dr. S.P Vaid on Sunday ordered immediate attachment of three senior Traffic Police officers.
They are SSP Traffic NHW, Sanjay Kumar Kotwal, Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic NHW Banihal, Nihar Ranjan and Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic Kulgam, Safdar Hamid Hassan Samoon.
A formal inquiry has been ordered to ascertain their dereliction of duty and casual attitude in maintaining traffic on National Highway on Friday and Saturday.
Pending inquiry they shall remain attach with the DIG South Kashmir Range.
Meanwhile SSP Ramban, shall look after the working of SSP Traffic NHW, SDPO Banihal and SDPO Qazigund in addition to their own assignments will look after the charge of Dy. SP Traffic NHW Banihal and Dy. SP Traffic Kulgam respectively till further orders. DGP made it clear that he would not tolerated dereliction of duty and consequence of inconvenience to the public.
