JAMMU: Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Sector Headquarter Jammu is organising Football Tournament title “Catch them young, Let’s play football” under Civic Action Programme from 19th February to 4th March 2017.
“The tournament will be conducted by the Organizing Committee of SSB with the technicians and expert bodies provided by the J and K Football Association, football Federation and Youth Services and Sport authorities of each district,” Rajinder Bhumbla, Deputy Inspector General, SSB Srinagar and Mahendra Negi, Deputy Inspector General SSB Jammu told reporters here on Friday.
The teams of Sub Divisions in the Districts of Jammu, Samba, Udhampur, Kathua, Ramban and Doda will participate in the tournament, Bhumbla said adding that the tournament will be conducted in two phases first at District Level and second at Inter-District.
Football Tournament at district level will be played on knock out basis from 19th to 25th February, 2017 at district Hqrs of respective districts, he added. The tournament at district level is intended to attract as many as forty (40) teams from across the districts of Udhampur (10), Jammu (14), Samba (six), Kathua (six), Ramban (three), Doda (three Teams).
The winner of district level football tournament will qualify for the second phase of tournament scheduled to commence from 26th February to 4th March, at Parade Ground, Jammu.
He added that SSB will provide kit items including football uniforms to the participating teams.
