SS submits memorandum to Guv, seeks better facilities for Amarnath Yatris

JAMMU: Shiv Sena (Bala Sahib Thackery) on Friday submitted a memorandum to Governor N.N Vohra highlighting the issues of Amarnath Yatris.
While giving the details of the memorandum, State President of Shiv Sena, Dimpy Kohli said that although Shri Amarnath Shrine Board is doing commendable job for giving better facilities to Amarnath Yatris yet there are many issues which are untouched and need immediate attention.
He said the main demands which party has put forth before the Governor was to open current Yatra booking counter at Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu.
Shiv Sena sought beds for the Yatris at Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar for sleeping, English style toilet facility for the old aged and handicapped Yatris, cancellation of 12 per cent tax on helicopter service and toll taxes on vehicles entering via Lakhanpur border, security cover to the tune of Rs 20 lakh per Yatri, Hindu community members be given due representation in the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board etc.
Kohli said that the Governor assured that he would consider all their demands as soon as possible.
Others present were Sandeep Bhagat, Raj Singh, Rajan Gupta, Satish Sahni, Raju Salaria, Ramesh Gupta, M.M Sadotra and Narinder Dev Chunni.
