SRTC VRS employees protest, seek release of pending dues

JAMMU: All J and K SRTC VRS employees today staged a protest at Exhibition Ground against non serious attitude of the J and K SRTC Department in favour of their demand of clearing the pending dues.
The protest was led by President of J and K SRTC Volunteer Retired Employees Association, Dev Raj Bali, who criticised the attitude of higher authorities of Transport Department of the State towards VRS and GHS employees.
He strongly criticised the attitude of the State Government for not implementing the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations in the State whereas the Central Government has ordered for the Seventh Pay Commission implementation.
They appealed to the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to put their case in the ensuing budget so that their pending demands are resolved.
They also demanded release of pending Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) with effect from 1999, Sixth Pay Commission arrears with effect from 1st January, 2006 and pension benefits.
Balwinder Singh, Surinder Singh, J.D Singh, B.B Sharma, Prem Nath, Gulshan Singh and Dwarka Nath were also present in the protest.
