SRTC VRS employees demand pending dues

JAMMU: All J and K SRTC Volunteer Retired Employees Association staged a protest in front of Press Club against Transport and Finance Department for not clearing their pending dues.
The protest was led by VRS Union of SRTC, Dev Raj Bali, who criticised the attitude of higher authorities of Transport and Finance Department of the State towards VRS and GHS employees.
Bali and General Secretary, Surinder Singh strongly criticised the attitude of the J and K Coalition Government for not releasing their legitimate dues.
They appealed to the Central Government to earmark the special package only for the clearance of dues of VRS/GHS employees of the J&K SRTC.
Their demands include release of 126 slabs of Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) with effect from 1st January, 2006, pending arrears with effect from 1999 and Sixth Pay Commission arrears with effect from 1st January, 2006.
Balwinder Singh, J.D Singh, Gulshan Singh, D.N Sharma, Surjit Singh, Sain Mohd, Kulbir Singh and Sat Bhushan were also present.
