SRTC volunteer retired employees demand release of pending dues

JAMMU: All J and K SRTC volunteer retired employees held a protest on Friday at Exhibition Ground, here under the leadership of Dev Raj Bali, President VRS Union.
The protesting VRS/GHS employees of SRTC alleged step motherly treatment by the State Government towards them and strongly criticised the government for not releasing their dues for which they have been struggling for the last more than six years.
The protesters said that during this long struggle 14 VRS employees had passed away as they could not afford proper treatment to their diseases for want of funds. They said that the Central Government has implemented Seventh Pay Commission in favour of their employees whereas they are struggling for Sixth Pay Commission implementation.
The protesting employees appealed to the Chief Minister Mehbooba Muftï to personally intervene into the matter and release their dues at the earliest possible.
Others present in the protest were Balwinder Singh, Surinder Singh, Prem Nath, J.D Singh, B.B Sharma, Gulshan Singh and Dwarka Nath.
