SR College of Competitions conducts KAS mains test series, workshops

JAMMU: The SR College of Competitions (SRCC) on Sunday held series of tests for those attempting the KAS main examinations, followed by the comprehensive free workshops targeting those who aim at the cracking the J and K Public Services (JKPSC) and UPSC examinations.
The specially designed test series held for twin subjects of General English and Essay Writing which was attended by over 100 such candidates, who have already qualified for the KAS Mains examination.
With resource persons from J and K and visiting faculty from Delhi attended to the queries of those fresh students covering different optional subjects, including Political Science, Public Administration, Philosophy, Anthropology, Sociology and Geography, during six-hour long sessions.
“The test series was designed in such a manner by the concerned teaching faculty that it should give the candidate a feel of actual examination. The focus remains on providing our students, as also those non-students, a platform to express themselves and look into their level of preparations for the Mains scheduled for second week of February,” Director, SR College, Parveen Sharma said.
On the other hand, the college held day-long exercise, involving hundreds of fresh students in workshops, wherein faculty extended a helping hand in selecting an optional for the JKPSC and UPSC examinations.
“We just elaborated the importance and scoring aspects of a subject taking into mind the capacity and ability of a student. Such Workshops help candidates clear doubts regarding selection of an optional while preparing for two different Civil Services Examinations of JKPSC (KAS) and UPSC (IAS),” informed Delhi based faculty of Public Administration, Gautam Pandey.
The college has already released a date sheet for the KAS Mains Test Series that started today. The test, touching all the papers, shall continue up to 10th January with the holding of General Studies Paper-II.
