Sports fraternity pays homage to Rangil Singh

JAMMU: The entire sports fraternity of Jammu, including those veteran players, office bearers of sports associations, officers of the sports organisations, senior
players and coaches of the State Sports Council paid rich tributes to president of J and K Olympic Association (JKOA), Rangil Singh, who died of old age.
The entire assembly of those related to sports, directly or indirectly, condoled the demise of octogenarian, who remained associated with JKOA for decades together.
“Former Minister and politician, Rangil Singh was a polite and decent person, who always stood for sports and sportspersons taking on the government for misdeeds,” speakers, paying tributes, told the gathering at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here. Earlier, the condolence meeting was chaired by veteran sportsperson and administrator, Durga Dass Magotra. The gathering was told that Rangil Singh was a highly educated (Bar-at- Law) from London and remained Minister for Education, Revenue and Health in Jammu and Kashmir. A two minutes silence was observed by the members to pay homage to the noble soul.
Later, in a letter to the bereaved family, the members conveyed their condolences, sentiments and prayed to the Almighty to grant peace to the patriarch of sports and give enough courage to the family members to bear the irreparable loss.
