Sports Council gears up for major events

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council has started preparations for two upcoming major events of Indian (I) League Football and South Asian Rugby Championship to be hosted in the Summer Capital of the state.
To personally look into the preparations on ground, Secretary of the State Sports Council, Jawaid Ahmed Shah on Saturday visited the proposed venues for the important events.
He issued necessary instructions to the concerned staff amidst orders for timely completion of the works in hand.
The Secretary expressed his unhappiness over encroachment on the
play fields, especially by the J and K Police by
way of parking the seized vehicles.
The Secretary was accompanied by Joint Secretary (Kashmir) of the Sports Council, Zamir Ahmed Thakur, Divisional Sports Officer and others officers from the Engineering wing, a handout issued her today said.
