RAJOURI : An over-speeding car which went out of control, crushed one shopkeeper on the spot and injured five others out of which one succumbed to injuries enroute to Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital Jammu.
The car bearing registration No JK02AK-4799 which was on its way from Poonch to Jammu went out of control at Rajouri and ran over number of people in Ward No 11, late in the evening on Monday. One shopkeeper identified as Joginder Pal alias Sham Lal son of Nihal Chand died on the spot and five persons identified as Police Sub Inspector (Retd) Dev Raj son of Suchet Ram, Nusrat Kouser, Mushtaq Ahmed, Kabir Ahmed, Shakeel Ahmed and Abdul Arshad were injured.
The police reached the spot and immediately shifted all the victims to District Hospital Rajouri. Three injured persons whose condition was critical were evacuated to GMC Hospital Jammu out of which Dev Raj succumbed to injuries near Nowshera. The remaining two were under treatment in District Hospital Rajouri.
The police has registered the case for investigation.
