Special leave for migrant teachers on Maha Shivratri

JAMMU: In view of the ensuing Mahashivratri, being celebrated by Kashmiri Pandits as Heerath, the Jammu and Kashmir Government is reported to have conceded to the demand of teachers working in the Valley under Prime Minister’s package to avail the leave for joining their families on the festival.
The schools in the Kashmir Valley reopened on Tuesday after the winter vacation.
Sources told STATE TIMES that Administrative Department has asked all the controlling officers to sanction leave, whatsoever admissible, in favour of the desirous teachers, who wish to celebrate the festival with their families outside the Valley.
Sources said that the desirous teachers can apply their leaves through email also.
