Special Assembly observed at JKPS Kunjwani on World Heritage Day to create cultural consciousness

JAMMU: In commemoration of World Heritage Day, a meticulously curated morning assembly was held at JK Public School to underscore the paramount importance of safeguarding our shared cultural and natural legacies. The observance aimed to instill a profound sense of historical awareness and global citizenship among students.
The assembly commenced with an eloquent address by Naman , who articulated the indispensable role of heritage in shaping collective identity and fostering inter cultural dialogue. Emphasising the fragility of our cultural patrimony, he called for a unified commitment to preservation and sustainability.
The program featured an array of intellectually stimulating activities. Divanshu talked about the need for conservation of iconic sites and said how neglect of such structures could destroy our precious legacy. Priyansh talked about the abundant wealth of these heritage sites and mentioned the need to preserve them. He talked of the architectural splendour and historical gravitas of various UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Suhani conducted a heritage-quiz to check the cultural literacy of the students. Shradha’ s poem was equally inspiring.
Naman, Utkarsh and Deepanshu told about various facts related to historical sites. Shariq’s thought was equally impressive. This intellectually enriching assembly served as a compelling reminder of our moral obligation to honour, preserve and transmit the invaluable legacies of the past to future generations.
Principal JKPS Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore appreciated the presenters for enlightening the audience on the most crucial aspect of preservation and sustainability of our heritage monuments. He said, “As we gathered to celebrate the World Heritage Day, we are reminded of the invaluable legacy we inherit from our ancestors: be it magnificent monuments, rich cultural traditions, or timeless wisdom encoded in our art, music, and rituals. This day is not just a celebration; it is a solemn pledge to protect and preserve the soul of our civilization”.
“Our heritage is a mirror to our identity. It connects us to our roots and teaches us resilience, creativity, and shared belonging. As torchbearers of tomorrow, it is our responsibility to instill pride in our heritage and foster awareness about its significance in shaping a harmonious, diverse world. Let’s not only appreciate historical treasures but also become informed custodians of culture, preserving our heritage in thought, action, and spirit”, he summed.
