South Kashmir Sports Festival concludes;Shopian players emerge winners in all categories of SQAY Martial Art

ANANTNAG: Players from Shopian District displayed spectacular skill and won all the bouts in different categories in SQAY Martial Art while District Anantnag emerged winner in cricket and volleyball in the South Kashmir Sports Festival organised by Jammu and Kashmir Police at Government Degree Collage ground, here which concluded on Wednesday.
In Cricket final, Anantnag outplayed Shopian while in volleyball, Anantnag defeated Pulwama. Awantipora outplayed Anantnag in the carom and bagged trophy. Kulgam defeated Shopian and lifted chess title. Kulgam also blanked Shopian in kho-kho final and grabbed a trophy.
SQAY Martial Art BOYS: senior; Hamid Rashid, Danish Aijaz, Jibran Hilal, all from Shopian won the gold in lower, middle and Upper weight categories respectively.
Junior; Mahran Nasir, Shahid Hamid and Raja Younis Tak, all from Shopian District won the gold in lower, middle and upper weight categories respectively. Sub Junior; the gold was won by Muzamil Hamid, Naveed Tariq, Imran Inayat in lower, middle and upper weight categories respectively.
The closing ceremony of the festival is being held by the end of this week where the winners/runners up will be presented trophies and merit certificates, organisers said.
