South Asian Tongil-II Moo-Do championship;Ansari hails Budgam youth for clinching 6 medals

JAMMU: Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Imran Raza Ansari on Friday hailed the achievement of six sportspersons from Budgam who recently bagged five gold and one silver medal in South Asian Championship of Tongil-II Moo-Do held at Thimpu, Bhutan between 16th and 18th December, 2016.
“What these kids are lately achieving in the sports arena is going to inspire masses in the State,” Ansari said. “Such achievements are bedrock of growth story of the sports in the State.”
The minister while assuring full support to the budding sports talent of the State said that all efforts are being made for taking sports to the next level and making it a lucrative career choice.
“When you celebrate success, it is bound to attract attention,” Ansari said. “I want to convey to all sportspersons of the State that the present overnment will leave no stone unturned to support you in your goals.”
The six children who won medals in the 2016 South Asian Championship of Tongil-II Moo-do-a mixed form of martial art-hail from Budgam’s Narkara hamlet.
The feat came on the heels of sensational win at World Kickboxing Championship by an eight-year-old Tajamul Islam hailing from Bandipora.
Among the winners are Fazil Aziz, gold medalist in sub junior category (25-28 kg), Aquib Muzaffar who won gold under 45-48 kg category, Mehroosh Manzoor who bagged gold under sub junior girls category (45-48 kg), Zeeshan Ahmad Dar who clinched gold under above 70 kg junior boys category, Adil Bashir who won gold under 64-67 senior boys category and Amir Ramzan who took home silver
under 51- 54 kg junior
championship.
