SOS International observes Black Day, pays tributes to PoJK martyrs

JAMMU: To express grief over invasion of Pakistani raiders on their homes and hearth in Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Kotli, Bhimber, Deva-Vattala, Chhamb, Poonch, Gilgit-Baltistan and Askardu, PoJK Displaced People on Saturday observed ‘Black Day’ besides paying rich tributes to martyrs of community, who lost their lives during barbaric attack in 1947.
In this connection, SOS International – An Organization for Pakistan Occupied Jammu Kashmir (PoJK) Displaced Persons organized a function at Krishna Public School in Bakshi Nagar, Jammu where rich tributes were paid to the community martyrs. The programme was presided over by Chairman SOS International Rajiv Chuni while prominent people of Displaced community, including J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina participated in the event for paying their tributes to the martyrs.
Speakers on the occasion, the participants recalled sacrifices of their ancestors and vowed to continue the struggle for getting due rights of Displaced community, which has been ignored by the successive Governments for the last more than seven decades. The program began with ‘Sarva Dharma Prarthana’ followed by recitation of poems recalling heroic tales of the community at the time of invasion thus making everyone emotional.
While paying tributes to the PoJK martyrs and recalling sacrifices made by Displaced community, J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina said that both BJP and SOS International are working on a same mission of getting PoJK liberated from illegal occupation of Pakistan, for realizing most cherished dream of Akhand Bharat.
In his presidential address, Rajiv Chuni threw light on sacrifices of the community members, who were forced to flee from their homes and hearth during attack by Pakistani raiders. He also highlighted plights and grievances of the PoJK DPs, who were remained, pushed to the corner by the successive regimes. Urging Central Government to continue the relief scheme and cover all the left-out families of PoJK DPs in a time bound manner, Rajiv Chuni demanded that un-necessary conditions attached to the required formalities for filing the case should be removed at the earliest for smooth implementation of the PM Central Assistant Scheme for PoJK DPs.
He also demanded that those DPs, registered outside Jammu Kashmir and having their record of PoJK origin should be allowed to file their claims without asking them to produce State Subject Certificate (PRC) which has been scrapped due to abrogation of Article 370 & 35A on August 5, 2019. Rajiv Chuni sought a concrete policy for the welfare of PoJK DPs and demanded that in place of PRO, a permanent Rehabilitation Commissioner should be appointed for exclusively looking into all the issues of Displaced community as in case of KP migrants.
Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion included Capt Ravinder, Rajinder Sharma, Sharda Devi, Bhai Ram Singh, Arun Gupta, Dr Jatinder Gupta, Jorawar Singh, Parmod Ghai, Ved Raj Bali, Dharamvir Gupta, Daleep Chib, Kapoor Chand, Satinder Dev Gupta, Vijay Kumar & Daleep Sharma. Stage was managed by V K Datta and vote of thanks was presented by Prof N N Sharma.
