KATRA: Wrestler Som Beer of Rohtak in Harayana clinched the 10th Annual Udhampur-Industrial State Kesari Dangal title 2016 outplaying wrestler Rubal Jit Singh of Khanna in Punjanb in the main bout held at Industrial Area, Battal Ballian (Rathian) in District Udhampur.
Dangal was organised by Young Dangal Committee in collaboration with J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association (JKISWA) under the overall supervision of President JKISWA, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Chairman, Young Dangal Committee. Rakesh Singh.
Joint Secretary, J and K State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma, who is also Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, was the Chief Guest who gave away prizes to the winner and runner up wrestlers.
President District Udhampur Indian Style Wrestling Association Sunil Badyal presided over the function.
Chairman Delhi Public School Udhampur Dr. J.C Gupta, G.M H.C Sharma IIL Industry, G.M Mohinder Paul Safex India Chemical Ltd, Surinder Khalsa President Baopar Mandal Udhampur, Sarpanch Puran Chand, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Deepak Anand, District Social Welfare Officer Yash Paul, Swatantra Dev Kotwal and SHO Udhampur O.P Chib were the prominent persons present on the occasion.
Wrestler Som Beer was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 51,000 along with Maa Ki Chunni by Shiv Kumar Sharma and Rakesh Singh while runner-up wrestler Rubal Jit Singh was awarded with cash prize of Rs 40,000 by Sunil Badyal, Rakesh Sharma and Naresh Kumar.
In all, 69 bouts were played in the one day Dangal.
Second bout was won by Benia Min of J and K Police who defeated Yudeshter of Delhi. Winner Benia was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 31,000 while runner-up Yudeshter got Rs 20,000. Third bout was won by Bhupinder of Ajnala who defeated Rajesh of Rohtak. Fourth bout was won by Satyanam of Ludhiana who defeated Ishaq (Lallu) of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu. Fifth bout was won by Hari Om of Delhi who defeated Nissar of Doda.
Members and Technical officials who helped for conduct of this one day wrestling included Rakesh Singh (chairman), Rakesh Sharma, Arun Khajuria, Jeevan Lal, Sanjeev Singh, Aditya Bhatyal, Sajjad Mohd., Om Parkash Verma, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Raj Singh, Rajinder Kumar, Mohd. Fareed, Capt. Dhiyan Singh (Retd.), Vijay Singh, Deepak Anand, Swatantra Dev Kotwal, Prem Verma, Sat Paul, Tulinder Kumar and Murli Dhar (Munna).
