Dear Editor,
Private universities and colleges mostly employ retired faculty members on low emoluments. This leaves little opportunity for the younger candidates. The Prime Minister’s announcement of raising the retirement age of doctors to 65 will increase unemployment for the youth and break the government’s promise of creating more jobs. The private institutions should be debarred for employing faculty members beyond 60 years of age.
