‘Solar eclipse on Dec 14, not visible in India’

JAMMU: The last eclipse of year 2020 i.e., Solar eclipse (Surya Grahan) will be on December 14 but it will not be visible in India, as such there will be no effect on any Rashi or any other religious act. Moreover, no precautions need to be taken by pregnant ladies during the eclipse. It was informed by the President, Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avem Vedic Sansthan (SKJAVS) Trust, Mahant Rohit Shastri in a press statement issued on Sunday.
President SKJAVS Trust further stated that the partial solar eclipse will begin at 19:04 hrs (as per Indian Standard Time) on December 14 whereas full eclipse will begin at 20:02 hrs. It will be at its peak at about 21:43 hrs and end at 00:23 hrs (December 15). The total duration of eclipse will be 05 hours 20 mins, he added. “The celestial event will be visible in some parts of South America, South Africa and Pacific ocean. In Chile and some parts of Argentina, the solar eclipse will be visible in afternoon,” he added.
