JAMMU: Soham Kamotra has become first from J&K to achieve the International Master (IM) title at Open Grandmaster event at Abu Dhabi. He completed all requirements of three norms and 2400 FIDE Rating after drawing with a strong 2600+ Grandmaster.
Soon after getting the news of Soham becoming IM, members of All J&K Chess Association (AJKCA) shared the congratulatory messages on different social media platforms. Working president AJKCA, Atul Kumar Gupta congratulated Soham for great achievement and hoped that other players will be motivated by his exceptional performance at international scene. Soham has already been suitable rewarded back home when he was presented a cheque worth Rs.8.00 Lacs by LG Manoj Sinha for his past achievements.
“The AJKCA wish Soham good luck for future endeavours. Soham has proved that things are possible provided there is hardwork and patience to achieve something,” said Atul.
