DODA: Sofi Volleyball Club Dhadkai clinched the title of Doda District Volleyball Championship organised by Volleyball Association of J&K in collaboration with J&K Sports Council at Bhadarwah, which concluded on Saturday.
In the final match played today, Sofi Volleyball Club Dhadkai defeated Young Star Volleyball Club Bhatyas by 3-2 (26-24, 30-28, 24-26, 21-25, 15-07) in a well contested match.
In the closing ceremony, Dr Waseem Hamdani, SDPO was the Chief Guest and Amit Kotchoo SHO was the Guest of Honour, who distributed prizes to the winner and runner-up teams. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest underlined the importance of sports among youth. He also called upon the youth to make the nation strong by eradicating all social evils with special emphasis on drug trafficking. Kuldip Magotra, CEO and Mohd Tariq, Joint Secretary of Volleyball Association of J&K were also present.
The matches were officiated by referees Murtaza Qadir, Muddasar Maqbool Butt, Abdul Haq, Salama Ruby, Rajni Kotwal, Sanjay Kumar and Aftab Alam.
