Social organisations condole CM Mufti’s demise

JAMMU: Various social and political organizations on Thursday expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Terming it a ‘huge loss to Indian politics,’ ASSOCHAM has expressed profound sadness and grief over demise of Mufti Sayeed.
“Sayeed was a visionary leader, pro-trade and industry and always stood for maintaining friendly relations between India and Pakistan to promote peace in the region,” said Sunil Kanoria, President of The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) said.
“As the Chief Minister of J&K, he was totally focused on equitable development of the state and as part of his efforts to revive the state’s economy he recently facilitated all kinds of help to the film industry for shooting in the valley to further promote growth of tourism, handicrafts and other relevant sectors,” said the ASSOCHAM chief.
The Vice-Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu alongwith all staff members express grief and sorrow on the sad demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. The Vice Chancellor observed that due to demise of Mufti Sayeed the nation has not only lost a statesman but the State of Jammu and Kashmir has also lost a visionary leader who has remained associated with the uplift of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
A two minute silence was also observed to pay homage to the departed soul and prayed that that the departed soul may rest in peace in heaven.
In his condolence message, Daljit Singh Chib, Vice Chairman (Minister of State) J and K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans stated that by the demise of Mufti Sahab a vacuum has been created which is very difficult to get filled up.
Being a political steward of the country, the J&K State especially has lost a personality who had a vision for the upliftment and overall development of the people of the State, he stated.
President, Jammu and Kashmir Ex-services League, Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal conveyed heartfelt condolences to Mehbooba Mufti on the sad and untimely demise of a Chief Minister and her father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed causing an irreparable loss to the State. Praying for eternal peace to the departed soul, he also prayed for giving enough strength to the family to bear the loss.
In a meeting convened under the chairmanship of P.N Pandita, President Namo Group Foundation, Jammu and Kashmir, condoled the untimely demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. Pandita said that the State as well as country has lost a true leader and leader of down trodden masses.Kuldeep Bhan Secretary, Rattan Lal Pandita Vice President, Jagdish Choudhary General Secretary and Shilpi Verma President Jammu Province also remembered Mufti for his vision.
President, People Democratic Trade Union (PDTU), Suresh Sharma, in a condolence meeting which was attended by cadres from Jammu, Kathua and Udhampur, recalled the memoirs of late Mufti in establishing the democratic set-up in the State and encouragement provided to each and every grass root level worker to work for the general masses and make the party strong. B.N Singh, Kapil Bakshi, Pardeep Singh, Rouf, Manohar Lal, Supinder Singh also spoke on the occasion. A two-minutes silence was observed to pay homage to the departed soul.
Chief Education Officer Jammu and staff members condoled the sad demise of Mufti Mohd Syeed. Two minutes silence was observed to pray almighty for bestowing peace to the departed soul and strengthen to bereaved family to bear irreparable loss.
A condolence meeting of the members of Movement for Peace, Equality and Justice was conducted on the demise of Mufti Sayeed. All the members prayed for grant of eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
A condolence meeting was held at Amar Singh Club to condole the demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed , who was also President Amar Singh Club, Jammu.
A two minutes silence was observed by all the members of the executive committee along with the staff to mourn the demise of Mufti.
In a condolence message, the Secretary of the Club, Vijay Saraf prayed to God for the departed noble soul, and remembered the contribution of Sayeed Sahib for the Club.
The Gandhi Global Family (GGF) executives described Mufti’s passing away as a great loss to the State and to the nation too. GGF Vice President S.P Varma expressed shock on the demise of the CM of the State. He along with GGF volunteers prayed for peace to departed soul.
Jammu Province Peoples’ Forum members recalled the political history of late Mufti, who headed the State twice as Chief Minister, besides he served as Union Home Minister of this country. The condolence meeting was attended by Justice Paviter Singh Bhardwaj (retd) president, Inderjeet Khajuria, Narian Singh, M.L Sharma, S.P.S Slathia, R.C Sharma, Avinash Bhatia, Rajiv Mahajan, Balwinder Singh, Gajan Singh Khajuria, Amrit Magotra, Gajan Singh (Akali Dal), Kamla Sharma, Sunita Sharma and Rajiv Mahajan.
PHD Chamber, J and K State Committee held a condolence meeting and expressed heartfelt condolences to the family of Lt. Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
“Late Mufti will always be remembered for his progressive vision, peace efforts and strong leadership. He was a sincere reformer who worked ceaselessly to move the State forward,” committee members said. They also acknowledged Mufti’s contribution towards trade, industry and commerce in the State. They prayed to Almighty to grant him Jannat Ai-Firdous for his services to the people and to humanity. The members also observed two minutes of silence in his memory.
Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) President Dr. Vikas Sharma, while paying homage to the departed soul, described late Sayeed, as a visionary man, who, as a Chief Minister of the State not only initiated many development works, but also gave direction to various projects for the welfare and overall progress of Jammu and Kashmir State. Dr. Vivek M. Arya, General Secretary of SKUAST-TAJ, described Mufti as an inspirational figure not only for the State but for the whole country/nation, who during his long political journey hold prominent/key positions in Indian Government and had inspired many young minds to dream big so that they become achievers in life and gave their contribution in building of State. The condolence meeting was attended by Dr. P.K Rai-Joint Secretary, Dr Devinder Sharma-Publicity Secretary, Dr. Rajeev Bharat-Treasurer, Dr Jai Kapoor, Dr Muneeshwar, Dr. Puneet Choudhary and other executive members.
Mentioning late Mufti contribution in the field of politics, All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association members described him as one of the tallest politician in the country.
They said that he was a visionary and promising politician, who headed the state twice as Chief Minister. He served the country in different capacities besides as Union Home Minister.
The meeting was attended by president Inderjeet Khajuria, besides Pawan Gupta, Baldev Raj, Sunil Suri, H.S Manhas, Bikram Singh, Vijay Gupta, Vinod Jandiyal, Pritam Sharma, Swaran Singh Chib, Gurdarshan Singh, M.L Sharma and Kamal Kishore.
Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC Kargil Haji Hanifa Jan in his condolence message writes that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was a visionary and dynamic leader has put the State of J and K on the track of Development of Prosperity and wrote that J and K is devoid of a great Statesman and the void created by his demise will be difficult to fill.
The Religous Organisation Anjuman Jamiyat Ullama Asna Ashriya Kargil Chief Spokesperson Hujjatul Islam Wal Muslameen Aga Syed Kazimi Mossavi told that the people of Kargil are in a state of shock after the demise of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
He told that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was a great leader who has always dreamt for the all over development of all the regions of the state and particularly for the development of Kargil.
Syed Kazim expressed condolence to late Mufti’s daughter Mehbooba Mufti, friends, relatives and the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Rt. Rev. Ivan Pereira, the Bishop of Jammu-Srinagar and spiritual head of the Catholics in the state prayed for the repose of the soul of late Sayeed.
Bishop Ivan, in a statement, recalled the services of Sayeed for the welfare of the State in various capacities particularly as the Chief Minister on two occasions. Fr. José Vadakkel, the Vicar General and Vice President of Education Society and Social Service Society in his message prayed for the departed soul and also prayed for the strength for all grieving members of the family to cope with the tragic loss.
All J and K ReT Teachers’ Forum State President, Vinod Sharma termed Mufti Sayeed a great and visionary leader who devoted his whole life for the betterment of humanity. They prayed for the peace to the departed soul and for the courage to the bereaved family.
Others who also attended the condolence meeting were Bhupinder Singh, Sukhdev Singh Sumbria, Sham Sharma, Sukesh Khajuria, Lekh Raj Parihar, Ashok Seth, Pritam Goswami, Chain Singh, Ravinder Singh and Parmod Sharma.
The EJAC President and Chairman J&K Teachers Forum, A.Q Wani in a statement released to press deeply condoled the sad demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
While expressing his deep condolences, the EJAC President said that the State has lost a great political leader and his death has caused a great void in the state politics. Wani paid rich tributes and remembered his qualities and contribution.

Shia Federation Jammu under the leadership of its President Hussain Khan mourned the death of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. All the participants prayed to Almighty Allah to bless the peace to the departed soul and place for him heaven.
Shia Federation shows solidarity with Mehbooba Mufti beside towards other family members and termed the death of Mufti Sayeed as an irreparable loss. Special prayers were also offered in memory of deceased Mufti Mohd Sayeed.

A condolence meeting was held at Imam Bargah Sofi Shah Peer Mitha under the presidentship of Syed Amanat Ali Shah who highlighted the important aspects and steps taken by Mufti during their political career. He said that Mufti was a legendary personality with great administrative and political acumen. others who present were Maulana Syed Ali Badshah Imam Jumma, Prof. Sujat khan, Syed Ayaz Naqvi, Syed Amjad Shah, Syed ajaz AKzmi, Syed Afaq Kazmi, Syed Jamil Kazmi, Syed, Syed jalil Shah, , Suhail Mir, Ashiq Hussain and Rashid Ahmed.
State President, Shri Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan expressed grief and sorrow over the sad and untimely demise of Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir State, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who breathed his last on Thursday morning at AIIMS, New Delhi.
Recalling the services of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Rajiv Mahajan described Mufti’s death as a great loss to the State of J&K. He said that that the gap created by Mufti’s demise in the polity of the State would not be easy to fill.
Expressing heartfelt condolences with the bereaved family, Rajiv conveyed his solidarity to them in this hour of mourning and loss.
He prayed to God to grant eternal peace to departed soul and courage to bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
While paying tributes to Mufti, Dr. Taran Singh, Medical Superintendent Government Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu, said that he was the leader of masses and worked for the upliftment of the downtrodden. He was equally popular in all the three regions of Jammu and Kashmir. All the employees of Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital , Dy. Director, Controller Stores ISM including Dr. Anil Gupta Agrade Specialist, Dr. Jatinder Gupta AC Stores, Dr. Rajnish Sharma, Dr. Ajay Tickoo, Dr, Aruna Bhat,Dr. Deepa Kachroo, Dr. Sonika , Dr. Neetu Handoo were present on the occasion. Two minutes silent was observed for the departed soul and prayer was done.
Evacuee Property Tenants Welfare Society President Jyoti Vaid said that untimely demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is a great loss to the State and Party when the State is passing through critical atmosphere.
Nami Dogri Sanstha Jammu held a condolence meeting to condole the demise of Mufti Mohd. Sayeed,. S.S Anand ‘Lehar’ presided over.

A condolence meeting was held at Vigilance Headquarters Jammu which was attended by Alok Puri, IGP Vigilance J and K, Director Prosecution, AIG (HQ), AIG (policy), AIG (central) and all Branch SSsP alongwith officers and officials of Vigilance Organisation. In the meeting rich tributes were paid and 01 minute silence was observed for the eternal peace of departed soul.
The KAS Association has deeply mourned the sad demise of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
“In passing away of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, the State has lost a visionary and a dynamic leader” the association in a condolence message said.
In a condolence meeting held here at the Civil Secretariat, Chairman, Employees Coordination Committee said that the state has lost a visionary leader who remained committed and devoted towards welfare of the state throughout his long political career.
It was also felt that the services of such a tall leader were eminently required at this stage when the state was moving ahead on the path of development and peace under his leadership.
J&K Public Service Commission remembered the vision and rich contributions made by the great statesman in strengthening the institutions of the State.
The Commission shall always remember with gratitude Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as a friend, guide, who took keen interest in the development of the Commission. It resolved to emulate his values and strive hard to carry forward his mission.
Describing the late leader a tall and great personality, able administrator and a seasoned politician, President of the Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust, Major Gen Retd. R.S Jamwal said that his role in the State politics and the welfare of the people will be remembered always. Rich tributes were paid to the departed leader in the meeting and a two minutes silence was observed to pay homage.
J and K Temporary Teachers Association President, Balwinder Singh Pawar on the behalf of hundreds of temporary teachers expressed grief and sorrow over the demise Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. They observed two-minute silence in the memory of departed soul. He prayed to god to grant eternal peace to the departed soul in the Heaven and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) officials paid homage to Sayeed. The Vice Chancellor paid homage to Mufti Sayed in the presence of all Deans, Directors, Faculty, staff and students and two minutes silence was observed.
The Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association conducted its meeting here, today to condole the demise of State Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. Association’s former General Secretary R.L. Kaith said Sayeed was a great statesman and the man of principles who led his life with dignity. He further said it is only the Almighty God who has the power to create life and take it away but the painful way he died in AIIMS has sadden everyone in the State.
All present prayed to the Almighty God to grant eternal peace to the departed soul.
Among others who attended the meeting included Capt. Kamal Dass Kaith, Capt. Kamal Chand Motan, Naib Subedar Mast Ram, Naib Subedar Kaku Ram, Dilay Ram, Deepak Kumar, Rashpal Chand, Girdhari Lal, Chajju Ram, Raghubir Chand, Tirath Ram and Paras Ram.
Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Director, Dr. Muhammad Ismail Parray called a condolence meeting to condole the demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Director JKEDI said the Jammu and Kashmir has lost a statesman and a visionary political leader committed towards welfare of common people.
“Mufti was a person who would stand against the wind rather than going with it. He lost his life while performing his duty and redressing the grievances of people. The services of leader like Mufti Sahab were required at this stage when the State is heading towards the development path,” Dr. Parray said.
Paying homage to Sayeed, special prayers were also offered for peace to the departed soul.
The management, staff and students of the Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences and Hospital as a mark of respect to the departed leader, held a condolence meeting in which rich tributes were paid to the departed soul. A two minutes silence was observed in his memory and the mourners expressed deepest sympathies to the bereaved family of the departed leader.
Bharat Bhandari, President All India Anti Terrorist Front, J and K condoled the demise of Mufti Mohd Jenab Mufti Sayeed and said late Mufti, a lawyer by profession, was a popular national leader and statesman par excellence. Mufti Sayeed always worked for upliftment of poor and down trodden and his passion for uplifting the State of J and K will always be remembered by all, for the times to come, he said.
Management of the Press Club of Jammu (PCJ) has expressed its grief and sorrow on the sad and untimely demise of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
A meeting of the management of the PCJ was held in which tributes were paid to Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. Management termed Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as a statesman and visionary leader, who had a vision for the development of the State.
Meeting further said that death of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has created a vacuum in the political horizon of the State as well as the country which is impossible to be filled.
Expressing their heartfelt condolences and sympathy with the bereaved family, meeting prayed to Almighty to bestow peace on the departed soul and give courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
Vice Chairman, Kissan Khet Mazdoor Congress, Jammu and Kashmir, Bharat Priye expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
He expressed sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed to God to grant eternal peace to the departed soul in the heaven.
The organisations which condoled the demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed included Jammu and Kashmir Veterinary Doctors Association, Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir Rural Development Society, Jammu and Kashmir State Samaj Sudhar Committee, All Jammu and Kashmir Pensioners Welfare Association, All Jammu and Kashmir Electric Department Linemen and Workers Union, Office of the Principal Government MAM College Jammu, Gram Vikas Sangh, All J&K Low Paid Government Employees Federation and Muslim Secular Front.
In SHS Memorial Nursing Home, the condolence meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dr Dara Singh, Senior Orthopaedics Surgeon.
Senior Member of Legislative Assembly J and K Rani Gargi Blowria expressed heartfelt sympathies to Mehbooba Mufti and the entire family in this most difficult of times and said her and her family’s prayers are always with them.
Saddened by the death of Mufti Sahib, she said” He has passed away when the country and the state (J&K) needed him the most. Recalling her personal family relation with Mufti Sahib’s, she said “We are in family relation since more than four decades and I knew that during his long political journey he won many admirers across the political spectrum,” Mufti’s contribution as a “humanist and to public life in various capacities will forever be remembered.” He was messenger of peace in Asia sub -continent.
A condolence meeting of BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha was held under the chairmanship of Surinder Bhagat, its president where two-minute silence was observed in the memory of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Speakers prayed to God to grant eternal peace to departed soul and courage to the bereaved family members.
JK Against Corruption led by Vikram Singh, Girish Sharma, Pankaj Gupta , Rajan Gupta, Bipan Bakshi, Sandeep , Chahal Singh, Vinod, and others has expressed heartfelt grief on the sad demise of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and condoled with the members of the bereaved family.
In a condolence message, it said that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was known for his administrative skills. He carved out a place for himself in the history of not only the state of Jammu and Kashmir but the country as a whole.
