KATRA: With an aim to promote sports in twin hilly districts of Reasi and Udhampur, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) is organising Second Invitational Volle-yball and First Tug of War Tournament at state of the art stadium, here on Friday.
The opening day witnessed four matches in volleyball.
In these matches, Chari Sports Club beat Panthal Sports Club in straight sets; Tikri Club beat Reasi Club by a similar margin.
In other scheduled matches, Tikri Club beat Salal Club 2-1 (25-18, 17-25, 15-10) in an exciting match while Garhi Sports Club defeated Kalika Reasi 2-0 (25-19, 25-12).
Meanwhile, in Tug of War event, Salal XI defeated Arnas XI 2-1.
Earlier, Director Sports, SMVDSB, Ashok Kumar, interacted with the participating teams and encouraged them in their endeavour to excel in sports.
